While coupons aren’t widely used here in Australia, they are in the US. You will find most online stores provide coupons to save money. If you have read my post on how to get a pair of Skechers half price, you’ll see that I saved 20% on my order by doing a Google search for a coupon and it took me literally 30 seconds to do. A lot of times you will save half of or even the total cost of your shipping. Coupons are the biggest way to save money when shopping online.
SHOP WITH A FRIEND
Firstly, shopping with a friend allows you to split the shipping costs. Also, alot of stores offer promotions such as spend $200 get $50 off or spend $500 get $150 off. The more you spend the more you save, so get together with a friend or family member and share that extra shipping expense.
SHOP SALE STOCK
Our seasons are back to front to US seasons. What I mean by that is, when we are in Winter, they are having Summer and vice versa. What that means for you is, their summer stock is going on sale when it’s our Winter. Stock up a season ahead on their sale items and your summer wardrobe will be ready by the time our Australia summer arrives.

International stores are well aware of the amount of Australians looking to shop online at their stores. I have seen an increasing amount of stores with promotions that offer free shipping internationally. There are also some stores which offer free international shipping all year round. You will find all these stores listed in the Shop The Planet Directory.
WATCH YOUR TOTAL
If you are a big spender or you shop with a friend, watch the total of your order. When bringing goods into Australia purchases under AU$1,000 are GST free. Anything over this, including your shipping fee, and you will likely get hit up to pay the GST.
